Big or small. Preferably with some movie theaters or bookstores within an hour's drive if not in town. Not going to move there, but maybe one day you know?

How is it? The one time I went through El Paso I spent most of the daylight in Juarez. Hard to believe there was a time a bunch of kids could wander the streets of Juarez with nothing happening to them given the stuff I see on the news now. El Paso (and Juarez for that matter) seemed like pretty good places back then though based on what little I saw.

I'd definately look at Texas. It has all the criteria, especially the last.

What do you mean by Texas feel??? Texas is a large state and have a western/southwestern/southern feel and more.

A blending of Western (as in rodeos, western music, and that sort of thing) and Southwestern, Tejano, and/or Mexican culture I guess. I'd sort of automatically throw out east Texas as part of the South (which I love but I'd like to live out west somewhere at some point in my life) and not the above groups except maybe Texas culture pushing back east. Maybe what I'm thinking of doesn't exist though.

I'd seriously consider Fort Worth as it has all of these qualities. Its considered by many as where the Wild, Wild West begins.
