Judging by the other road trip and map threads, I figured it's safe to start a thread about favorite interstate stretches. I'm new to the forum and it's good to see that there are other map and road enthusiasts around here, so hopefully this topic will generate some interesting discussion!

What is your favorite stretch of interstate to drive in the US and why?

I once visited with an older man who said he had driven on every road in America. Have you driven on every interstate in the US, and do you plan to?

My personal favorite is I-70 from I-15 in Utah to Denver. Gorgeous cliffs, babbling brooks, beautiful panoramas, and mountains.

I-24 between Nashville and Chattanooga. Driving through the mountains is just incredible.

I have to go with I-70 between Denver and Grand Junction, Colorado. Best mountain drive in the country, IMO

It's a short interstate but very scenic, the H-3 on Oahu. I'm not sure if there is any other mountains outside of Hawaii that resemble the Koolau Range, Hawaii's scenery is incredible.

My absolute favorite would have to be driving into Seattle on I90 through Snoqualmie National Forest...it's absolutely stunning.

I-93 through Franconia Notch in New Hampshire is fantastic, especially in the fall and winter. It's the only stretch of interstate in the U.S. that narrows down to a single northbound and single southbound lane.

Both of the interstates in Vermont - I-91 and I-89 - are beautiful drives, like pretty much every road in that state.

Another vote here for I-70 through the Rockies in Colorado.

I-15 through eastern Idaho and southwestern Montana has some really breathtaking scenery.

I-90 in South Dakota is my favorite interstate drive in the Midwest - a ridiculous amount of billboards, but a great sense of openness and an interesting transition from the prairie to the Badlands and the Black Hills.

Okay, my favorite doesn't make sense to many, but it brings back childhood memories of driving back and forth from Minneapolis to Chicago, where most of our family was from. I-94/I-90 from Minneapolis to Chicago and back. The rolling hills of Western Wisconsin, the semi trucks and traffic that keep your speed steady, the Dells, the tollways, and the Oasis McDonalds (that now looks terrible with the recent "upgrade").
