We don't want a second team, but we would like to see the AAAA Royals bump it up to the big-league level.
And no, the Royals aren't going anywhere. Not with such an oddly loyal fan base, and 250 million dollars worth of stadium renovations.
George Brett was one of my favorite players growing up. I'm guessing the young folks today have no idea how good the Royals were in the 70s and 80s. What a shame.
Because that is the first I've ever heard that statement....did you read MY reaction?
Yes I read your reaction and you were obviously confused as to what I was saying no to. I thought I was clear in stating the Twins were supposedly relocating to Winston-Salem, not Charlotte. Anyway, we should move on.

I said "that's news to me". I seriously don't know how you know about that and seemingly nobody else did. Or maybe it is because I went off to college by the end of that spiel and in our Sports class we were still talking about expansion and the Twins possibly leaving. Charlotte was wrong, I know that....I couldn't remember the real area, but still, it's a largely populated area in a 50 to 100 mile circumfrance.
I said Portland, mostly because it's largest but also because the AL West only has 4 teams and needs a 5th.
This would never work unless 2 teams were added. Baseball is currently set up with 14 and 16 team leagues to ensure that on most nights every team gets to play. With 15 teams in a league one team would be off each night which would really be bad at the beginning of the season with teams playing 3 or 4 game series. I would be all for Portland getting a club, but then we need another AL team.
Austin would be a good fit. It would help econmoic development. I know a lot of people will disagree and say that UT is their sports team but I don't entirely agree. Most of baseball season is primarily during the time of year when college sports are dormant and not everyone is Austin loves ut. Not everyone went to school at UT and people don't switch college teams but it's very common to cheer for the professional team in the area you live. I followed the dolphins when I was in florida and currently follow the chiefs. That being said, I voted for San Antonio followed by Columbus and Indy.
I wish I had put Dallas in the poll. They could get another team as well. Perhaps in the National League and in town as well since no once cares about the Rangers anymore.
Oh lord, this again.....
1st off, you don't speak for the entire DFW Metroplex, you don't speak for Dallas, and you sure as hell don't speak for Fort Worth and Arlington because I know ALOT of Rangers supporters.
And 2nd (I don't know why I have to keep bringing this up to you) the Rangers are not just Dallas's team. The reason why the Rangers are in Arlington is because they represent the entire Metroplex.
Now if DFW would somehow gain another team, more than likely it would go to Dallas, and then you can finally say you have a "Dallas baseball team". But for now, it's the METROPLEX's team.
*sigh* Ok, now that I'm off that.... My picks were San Antonio and Charlotte. The way I see it, if Buffalo, NY can hold an NFL team, those two could get MLB franchises.
Also, the A's could be moving to San Jose....
