Gallaudet University is the only liberal arts college and university for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. It's also considered the leader in ASL and Deaf Studies.

Agreed. Rochester actually has the highest number of deaf people per capita in the united states. That being said... I think I've only encountered people who are deaf a handful of times, but I do see people that are deaf relatively frequently.

My town of Staunton, VA has the VA school for the deaf and blind. There was one in Hampton, but the state consolidated both into one here in Staunton. I do encounter the deaf quite often here. As a result of the population not being huge here you see them often. The school is also one of the biggest in town and resembles some of UVA. At least I think so. It's also located in one of the nicest parts of town.

Gaullaudet (the deaf college) is in Washington D.C.

RIT has a huge deaf population, (Rochester NY as mentioned by a previous poster).

Austin Texas is one of the biggest deaf communities (and fastest growing).

Twin Cities in Minnesota have a large deaf community

Seatle Wa

Fremont California

You can google "bigest deaf communities" and it'll give you a list of the largest deaf communities by region.
