Hi,

I'm searching for a city that is set in a nature setting with a lot of wildlife around the area. Mountains, lakes, river, streams, trees, and lots of green is what I want to live around. I'd love to do lots of outdoor activities. I already know of all of the cities in Alaska, but I'd like to know of similar places in terms of surroundings in the lower 48. I also would love snow in winter. I've never been in the snow. I live in California. I also want a place with all of the seasons, I've never been in a place where there's actually evidence of a season, as I've never been out of California. Fishing would be nice, wildlife viewing . . . I guess that's it. Please include the State with your recommendation. Greatly appreciate it.

What city size are you looking for? There are a lot of places up north that can meet your criteria.

Sounds like anywhere in Maine would probably fit your criteria (which are exactly the same as mine by the way).

DC is 1/3 park land and if you don't mind driving for about an hour/ hour and one half, there are mountains to the SW, W, and NW
