Hi everyone,

I live in Michigan and the economy is horrible. Does anyone know which states have the best economy?

Thanks for all input.

Way to go. Wait until you get to reap the benefits of all of it. Being the guinea pig is nothing to boast about. You're just making your kids future more uncertain tying all of these assets together. Give me my gold star and i'll make sure I fall in line and march to it. Walk the corporate line boys and girls.

It doesn't appear that anything can be done because the Imperialist big cities always want more. They don't stop. This directly benefits their initiative. Oh well, have fun doing it. You will realize your mistakes only after.
Socialism can work very well and is a far better alternative than capitalism. I agree with you on many of your concerns. I really think it's important to point out that socialism is not the same as communism and sadly we haven't had many good examples of socialist societies. I don't think that socialism aims at abolishing religion and for big government/intrusion. I think it's the exact opposite, have your religion but don't use it as a political tool to sway public policy. Don't shove it down people's throats and tell them you're going to hell if you don't base your life on scriptures. I think we can all agree that we don't want the government spying on people and using our monies to promote wars abroad. That's not the socialist agenda but has been the right wing republican agenda. I'm for Universal Healthcare, absolutely! Every American deserves quality healthcare regardless of their ability to pay for it. There are many rural families who are make ends meet at the local steel plant who can't afford the astronomical premiums and welfare isn't going to cut it. If we have 400 Billion to blow on Iraq than certainly we can take care of our own. I would be very happy to see us adopt some culture from Canada, France and the Netherlands.

So true...but right now, one has to make a living or fall thru the cracks. Only the rich are riding around in big vehicles planning their next vacations.

Here are the states with the lowest unemployment rates as of June 2007. Of course unemployment is just one economic indicator (but a major one)

Arizona 3.4%
Delaware 3.3%
North Dakota 3.3%
Wyoming 3.3%
Nebraska 3.2%
New Mexico 3.2%
South Dakota 3.0%
Virginia 3.0%
Utah 2.6%
Idaho 2.5%

The two states with the lowest unemployment rates are...

Hawaii 2.4%
Montana 2.4%

Both Arizona and New Mexico recorded their all time record low unemployment rates. Arizona is somewhat surprising considering the housing bubble there.

The two states with the highest unemployment rates are:

Michigan 7.2%
Ohio 6.1%

I dont know much, but I do know this...in a country that has built itself to be what it is because of capitalism. Nobody will ever convince the 4 percent of the population to part with their 80 percent. Thats correct. 4% of the American population holds control over 80% of the wealth. No political idealoge will ever win in the face of those odds. You can not continue to dangle the carrot in front of people and think they will be motivated. You need to find out WHAT motivates people. USE THAT!!! Behaviors come from values. You can not change a behavior alone, you MUST CHALLENGE VALUES IN ORDER TO SEE CHANGE. Is Obama going to address values in a way you are goig to believe? maybe. Hillary Clinton? Values? Ya right!! She values the next big thing. So can you trust Hillary to address VALUE CHANGE? Nope! None of these clown talk about what really matters. Safety and security of this country. Our greatest generation fought for all of us to be able to have a forum such as this one to debate our ideas. And it is that same generation that couldnt talk to their own kids. Now you complain that "Generation Y" asks to many qustions? Kids are thirsty for knowledge. Challenge them! Give the student of tomorrow the opportunity to shire, regardless of economical background. Values come from what we know to be "right" and "wrong".
Now I have to call you on a statement that you made, and I quote "Every American deserves healthcare, regardless of their ability to pay for it." This abortion of an idea is a debochary of understanding of what you just asked for in your whole writings. In the beginning you claim you dont want government spying on you, you dont want them involved in your life, I will do what I want when I want where I want, as long as I dont infringe on another mans. Pretty good rules to live by! After all the irresponsible and intellegent people I hang around, I know that most of the **** we do hurts us. You think you should be able to drink, smoke, and reproduce, and have no education, all kinds of role model kinda life-style AND have us pay for it? The sad thing is, the uninformed voter believes the koolaid you spew and they feel sorry. Voting with feeling gets you nowhere. Voters should look withinthemselves and use the same VALUES that guide them. Then feeling are not involved and each of us can make informed and educated decisions. Feel sorry for the mis-fortunate, but dont expect the 4%to give! give! give!
So you ask what do we do. Start with the average American. Black, white, asian, native american, it doesnt matter. Why you ask? becasue even though they have 80% of the wealth, we have what they need to survive $$$. The national average mean income is 31K-32K. That market base, regardles of religion, creed, or race are not being represented. Every American in this bracket is too rich to qualify for anything, yet is too broke to enjoy anything. Another statistic you will find interesting. 25 percent of graduating high school seniors graduates college. Without a college degree of any kind, unless you own your own business, you are battling everyday to make money and with no commintment between corporation and employee, turn-over is emminent. You want to make changes in behaviors, only through changing values will you ultimately get rid of welfair. Society could care less if someone starves when they might repo his car. People dont care. They care about Katrina, 9/11, ya and I do 2. People are not going to sacrifice their yacht, and millions of other trinkets one might pursue. Supernova7, I would love to debate anytime. I respect people and till next time....
