The region is becoming more and more tolerant in terms of civil rights that it even beats America in some departments (gay rights) even though it is still heavily Catholic.

What does Africa have, besides maybe Cape Town, Cairo and possibly J'Burg? But even those cities are bursting at the seems in violent crime...
couple of nice cities in the ivory coast, Ghana , Nigeria. and i beleive Angola and a few other African countries are going through a crazy boom due to the Chinese presence.

north Africa in my opinion is all first world looking to me. morocco , Egypt , Tunisia , Algeria etc.

now eastern Africa Ethiopia , Somalia , and Eritrea need help.

You still didn't name one city, but whateves....

And all those countries are all located in the north. Aren't they more influenced by the pan-Arab/Islamic world than they are by the rest of Africa? If that's the case I would like to include Miami, Madrid, Barcelona, LA, Houston and San Antonio as part of Latin/Hispanic America.

If N. Africa is first world looking to you, then you seriously have low standards. Not to mention sub-Saharan Africa has to be one, if not THE, most failed region on earth with northern Africa a close second...

lol well now your generalizing because many people would call latin america a backwards dump especially the anti - illegal folks in america but we all know that's not true.

Africa has a lot of shady things going on but i think its time that some of its gold be revealed instead of the same negative stories every single day given out by the media.

i will find some nice cities to show you tomorrow i will go to bed now. school in the morning

I'm just saying that people of N. Africa would probably pledge allegiance to the Islamic/pan-Arab world than the rest of sub-saharan Africa. Culturally, they are worlds apart. Someone in Morocco would probably have much more in common with someone in Iraq than Kenya. But traditionally "black" sub-Saharan Africa is still a political and economic mess with it's quality of life the lowest in the world. You can't deny that. Having a couple of nice stadiums and buildings are nice but doesn't help when 80% of the population lives on less than $2.50 a day. Look it up. Even in Latin America's worse areas it is still light years ahead...

You want 3rd world? Try Africa....
Whoa! Stop!
