Have you ever made a wrong turn or some sort of driving error and ended up in a ghetto? Please, share.
My exprience was in Philadelphia, my dad was driving and he couldn't find our destination, so he drove further North from downtown. Who knew there was a ghetto bordering Center City?
Another time was in Camden, just a miserable looking city. We did not cross the bridge over the highway to Camden's worst section, but the detrioration and depressing surroundings can make you nervous. Many of the buildings were crumbling and in poor condition, boarded up. Everything except for some new developments to revitalize the community was horrible. There was a tower that looked pretty old and had not been mantained at all, it looked like it was in really bad shape. Just a bad exprience.

I commute through a ghetto in Harlem, then go to an even worse ghetto in the south Bronx for work lol. I have my everyday trips through a bad and even worse ghetto
Last year my fiance and I went to see the Blues play in St. Louis. We were on the train and decided to go over to the Illinois side, just to say we crossed over to another state during the trip. Got to see East STL, not so pretty.
I actually like to drive around cities whether it be the good or bad areas, so I often find myself riding around in ghetto areas. Im from an area in Cleveland that isn't the worst of the worst neighborhoods, but it did have some crime mostly a bunch of robberies. It had some boarded up houses too, which usually indicates drug houses. That neighborhood isn't really far from some really bad neighborhoods, and I rode around them. I mean in some of these neighborhoods it literally looked like half the houses were boarded up. Its not scary to me though, nobody bothered me or anything. I've also been to some of the bad areas in Chicago, on the southside and those looked like they were pretty rough neighborhoods. I've been to Harvey, Calumet City, and other surrounding Chicago south suburbs all of which looked pretty bad. I've also been to Hammond Indiana, the whole city didn't look bad but it still had some areas that looked rough. I saw Gary from the highway, basically the same as neighborhoods in Cleveland and Chicago, lots of abandoned and boarded up houses and buildings. I've been to the bad areas in Denver, although they don't look anywhere near as bad as the bad neighborhoods in Cleveland and Chicago. So far those are the only three cities where I have actually seen there ghetto neighborhoods, I plan on seeing more though.
once I was going to a musical festival of hippical hop called "Rock the Bells" in a city evidently called "Nueva Hork". Anyways, myself and 100,000 other young white men from such diverse places as Westchester County, Long Island, and basically all of Connecticut were trying to find our way on this strange subtrantian train. anyways, I ended up in Haarlem on my way to Randalls Island and had to stop and get some electrolytes in the local sub-par whole foods knock off. anyways, it was FULL OF BLACK FOLKS.

Yes, I was running in Chicago one time (I was there for a convention) and didn't really know the neighborhoods west of Rush St. I took off down W Division St and after a while found myself at the Cabrini-Green project. I ran back to the hotel in record time.
I guess so. We were in Orlando, trying to get to my BIL's house. I tell him what intersection I'm at, he repeats it to his room mate, who starts screaming "Get them out of there! You're going to get them killed!" yada yada yada....
It didn't look like a great neighborhood, but the people I saw didn't look threatening, either. Regardless, we made it out safely LOL.
I was told later it was "the ghetto". I think my BIL's pal is a little too sheltered. I've been to harlem, it didn't all look liek aghetto. A friend of mine lived there, I used to visit.
It was Florida, so I was legally packing and wasn't too worried, anyway.
