Sorry OP you're gonna need a lot more than an EYE (we've already got one planned BTW called Great Orlando Wheel (http://www.greatwheel.com/orlando/home_english.htm - broken link)) and a Wax Museum to become a bigger better "Orlando." Try having 7 out of the 16 busiest theme parks in the world for a start. Actually the only other theme park in the US that cracks the top 16 for attendance is Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. WDW is the largest single site employer in the country and the place has semi autonomous governing abilities. It's transportation network rivals most rail and bus systems in the Sunbelt for ridership, except MARTA. I love Atlanta, ask any of the Atl regs, but it's laughable to think that it could surpass Orlando as a vacation destination due to a couple of I-drive worthy attractions.

I know, I know. I wish the best for Atlanta, it was just funny how you worded that lol. It would be like me saying "Orlando is getting a 24 hour nationally syndicated news network and we're going to be a new and better Atlanta (for broadcasting)." You'd be like yeah right we got CNN, Turner, Cox, etc.

Its funny how when I clear up a misconception about my city Brent is quick to call me a homer, but his post concerning ATL are most times beyond Homerism. good lord dude do you really think they are trying to make ATL into an Orlando by building an eye?

The Atlanta area is already much bigger than the Orlando area, adding attraction is just a plus, it is not to compete with anyone.

And Charlotte is a very charming city filled with history. I am sure that you hate it for some silly reason.
