Hi there,

I'm in the process of trying to move from Jacksonville, FL - if anyone would have any suggestions for me , that would be great. I haven't done much traveling and although I'd prefer to stay on the east coast,I'm open to all ideas!

Basically, I'm chronically ill with a health condition that makes driving difficult for me, so one of the biggest things I'm looking for in my new town is low traffic and ease of driving.

Another thing that's become an issue for me here is the heat, so I'm looking to move somewhere with a moderate climate.

I'd also like there to be a good medical facility.

All of this being said, I'm still in my 20's so I want an area with a college and things to do.

Does this place exist?

Thanks!

I recommend it often because it's a great place to live...Chapel Hill, NC

It would work very well in your situation. It's a vibrant small college town (UNC) with a moderate four season climate. It can get pretty hot for a couple of weeks in the summer, but otherwise it's pretty nice. Driving is fairly easy, but more importantly the town has excellent public transportation that's fare-free! The UNC Hospitals and nearby Duke University Medical Center would provide excellent medical care for you as well. Being a college town, there are a ton of things to do, many activities are free or low-cost. I highly recommend you make a trip up and check it out. Good luck!

That was the first area I thought of. Maybe Asheville NC, Knoxville TN, Clemson SC/Upstate SC, Blacksburg VA, Charlottesville VA and Harrisonburg VA.
