In no order
St.Louis
Minneapolis
Detroit
Cleveland

Why?-These are the top 4 economies after chicago. All these cities and metros are important. All these econommies range from 100(cleveland) to 210 (detroit) although these include the metros. Metro Chicago is around 700 billion or something

Detroit and Minneapolis are the next two after Chicago. Detroit was formerly a top 10 US city but I'd say it is now in the 12-15 range. Minneapolis is a riser and I expect it to pass Detroit at some point, but for now Detroit still has the edge based on population and history. I think economic output is similar.

After those two I think St. Louis is next then probably Cleveland with an argument for Cincinatti.

Yep, St. Louis also made it all the way up to the 4th (3rd largest at a point if you went by cities today) largest city in the country. This question is pretty clear cut if we're talking overall (MSP/Detroit movement withstanding), the top 5 Midwest cities are:

Chicago
Detroit
Twin Cities
St. Louis
Cleveland
