I vote for DFW.

IT's the 4th largest metropolitan area in the United States, and continues to expand at roughly 140-150,000 people per year.
It has the largest concentration of Information Tech in the state of Texas.
It is the largest banking center in the "Southwestern United States"
It has lots of diversity featuring several Chinese districts, hispanic, Korean Town, Vietnamese Town.
IT has several of the largest cities in the US, notably Dallas proper at #9, Ft. Worth proper at #19, and Arlington proper at#49. Together, DFW area has the 4th largest MSA in the country sporting several corporate headquarters that you would recognize: American Airlines (largest hub is at DFW), Southwest Airlines world HQ, Radio Shack, Pizza Hut, Blockbuster, Pier 1, Neiman Marcus, Exxon Mobil, Comamerica Bank, Centex, Container Store, Texas Instruments, etc, etc.

It has great weather as long as you dont mind the hot summers, winters for those migrating from the north (i'm originally from the north) is pretty much ended as you knew it if you were to move down here. Year round sports is a plus! Given multiple large cities, there is definite cultural diversity here not necessarily referring to race or ethnic culture, but different options b/t the cities: Ft. Worth offers "old western" type of culture, Dallas urban sophisticate, Arlington family fun, and the rest of the suburbs to have some nice things to offer as well.

In FL... South FLorida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach) is your bet. I would personally suggest Boca, Delray area as the base.

Uh well I don't know if South Florida is a powerhouse in the IT field and it's not exactly affordable compared to cities like Dallas(although uptown is becoming expensive) and Raleigh
