San Jose. That's exactly the style of house I grew up in during the 60s and early 70s in one of its suburbs.

That's mostly a Western suburban house. Not everywhere in the US built houses that looked like that.

Those style houses are EVERYWHERE in the US, and Canada. At least all the places I've been (47 states and 5 Canadian Provence's.)

I hate that style of home. It's as if they decided to build a garage and then added on living quarters as an afterthought. After being in a car all day, I would hate to come home to my "car-home".
