Hey, Jews historically have accounted for 22% of all Nobel Prize winners, even though they are less than 1,000th of the world population. See Jewish Nobel Prize Winners Jews have had almost a monopoly on Broadway musical theater. (This was satirized in a funny song from the musical "Spamalot" - "You won't succeed on Broadway if you don't have a Jew"). Most movie studios were founded by Jews, as were many early Department stores. Doctors, even more so dentists, lawyers, interviewers, talk-show hosts, comedians especially (although many took on Anglo names), investment analysts, and editorial writers, are all heavily Jewish professions in America. The percentage of Jewish doctors in America however is going down, as more now are Asians and others of non-western heritage.

Someone just mentioned Rockland County, NY. That's the home of the very unusual Orthodox community "Kiryas Joel" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kiryas_Joel,New_York

As a non-Christian living in the United States, there is NOTHING you can do to stop us from worshiping our religions.

So yeah, we're here, get used to it. How does it feel to know you can't do a thing about it?

I am happy that the Jewish folks in Missoula Montana now have a synagogue to worship in now and don't have to rely on the kindness of a Catholic church for use of their facilities anymore.

Actually, Kiryas Joel is in Orange County, NY and I believe it is in the Monroe-Woodbury SD. I believe that Spring Valley in Rockland County has a very high Jewish population, eventhough that is a predominately Black community.

Jews only make up 2-3% of the US population. It would be hard for them to take over everything, eventhough much of what slowlane mentioned is true.

What's interesting is that I was thinking about starting a thread about a correlation between Jews and affluent suburbs/neighborhoods. My reasoning is because in Upstate NY, it seems like the most affluent or one of the most affluent suburbs tends to have a relatively higher Jewish presence. In Syracuse, it's DeWitt, Fayetteville, Manlius and many of the city's East Side neighborhoods. In Rochester, it's Brighton, Pittsford, Henrietta and western Irondequoit, along with that city's SE quarter. In Buffalo, it's Williamsville, the Snyder neighborhood of Amherst, East Amherst and parts of the city's North Side. In Binghamton, it's Vestal and the Riverside Drive area of the city, as well as the nicer parts of Johnson City. In the Utica-Rome area, it's New Hartford and South Utica. In Albany, it's the Whitehall neighborhood of that city, Delmar/Bethlehem and parts of Colonie. It's Niskayuna and the Upper Union area in the Schenectady area. I can go on and on.
