American Community Survey has come out with a more recent color-coded map of American cities based on race/ethnicity, education, median income, same sex couples, and elementary children in private schools. Data is based on 2005-09. Its much more detail than the 2000 race/ethnic map.

Mapping America — Census Bureau 2005-9 American Community Survey - NYTimes.com

Not only can you map every city, they break it down to neighborhoods/several blocks.

Here is my particular city

city: Harvey, IL

Neighborhood or area: Census Tract 826902

population: 1,793

Race/ethnicity
97% Black
2% Hispanic
1% other

Education(25 years of age or older)

H.S. Diploma- 78%
Bachelors or higher- 14%
Masters- none

Median household Income-$33,359

Elementary children in private schools: none

Same Sex Couples- none

Sounds about accurate

Just type in your city and from there post your results.
