They must miss the politics because they certainly bring the Democratic party down with them. I made sure to leave it in Md when I moved to Ga, thats the thing I miss the least.

Some southern hospitality I didn't like the south boo hoo.
Only state worth visiting in the south is Florida.
I wil return to the region of the country where the people are educated and mind their own buisness.

Does it matter? What, you were going to find out where they were from and bash it for the sake of bashing it.

Oh you gotta love CD posters.

Yea that is pretty interesting. North Carolina is not drastically different from VA. We are only one state away and culturally its about the same (new south states with lots of northern transplants in the cities), especially coming from Richmond. I would have understood better if NOVA was mentioned.

Something that makes sense that someone pointed out to me recently for VA and NC is that both states follow east to west patterns rather than north to south for how southern a place feels in general. For example, although Norfolk is at the bottom of VA it will feel less southern than Roanoke and southwest VA. Also Norfolk will have more in common with the eastern shore than Roanoke although they are in the same state.

The reason I asked is because I was thinking the transplants in Charlotte and Atlanta and Nashville or wherever would like to have a restaurant like they came from - with Chipped Ham BBQ or Pierogies or Brier Hill or DiCarlo's Pizza, or Italian Beef, etc. And the decor could be UAW On Strike placards and Steelworker hard hats, and pieces of factories and mills and Orthodox Churches. And the music could be Sinatra and Loverboy and Frankie Yankovic and Donnie Iris, etc. That's why I asked what do you miss? Not to start a bash-a-thon!
