hey everyone! im new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself here! well im originally from augusta, ga born and raised there all my life..i moved to the hilton head area of south carolina a little over a year ago. i have never lived anywhere but the south and don't get me wrong i love it here but i wanlt to get out there and experience life in other places. my bf and i have been talking about moving up north. i like the seasonal weather and he is the type that wouldn't mind it being cold year round. but we are compromising on that so i can still have so warm weather at least part of the year...however i don't have to have blazing hot weather. my bf mentioned minnesota.. he has heard things about it that he likes as well as having more cold weather throughout the year...and i have talked to a few people that have mentioned mass. and penn. i would love new york or new jersey but ive heard it's soooo expensive to live there. so if you all could give me some input on your likes and dislikes of some of the north that would be awesome! thanks in advance!!!

Aside from the Philly area Pennslyvania is cheap. The same with New York outside of the NYC area. Maybe look into those states for a reasonable cost of living.

Minnesota might be a bit too cold in the winter for a person from the south. Heck, I live in Chicago and it might be a bit much for me. It's also a lot further away from S. Carolina for trips back home.

Minn. is the frozen tundra... are ya nuts? LOL. Ms might be nice for you. North carolina, from Raleigh west, Kentucky, Tenn. Pen is beautiful, philly has one of the highest crime problems in the country, and violent crime. Lots of immigrants, both legal and illegal there are causing gang issues. goggle philly news and read back a bit. You'll find lots of examples. for my money, I wouldn't go any further north than southern IL , and I grew up in Chicago.
have you thought about the Denver area, they have surprisingly mild winters in the mountains Denver, boulder, castle rock, put you pencil on Denver don't go any further east but look about 50 miles in the other 3 directions, It's lovely there.Plus good schools and plenty to do all year long.
