But yeah, blacks are mostly in the South, and this part will grow because they migrate there from other parts of the country + African immigrants (they love Georgia, Texas is an appreciated destination too) + Haitian immigrants are growing very fast in Florida)
I just asked a few Latino LA friends and they say thats overstated and not true.... As for blacks loving the south , idk....thats mixed....

The first post would be just as accurate if it was changed to "The nation's American population continued its southward migration over the past decade." It's not just blacks who are continuing to migrate south and west, it's everyone.

True and I wonder if this is for Northern metros or the city proper. Many Northern Blacks are moving into suburbs in those metros or into smaller cities in the North. Here's an example showing this from a suburban Buffalo high school: Cleveland Hill High School, Cheektowaga New York / NY School Profile, Ranking, and Reviews - SchoolDigger.com

I know that a smaller city like Ithaca has seen a steady increase in it's Black population and even has a Black man that is the superintendant of the Ithaca City SD: Ithaca City School District - Home

So, the mobility of African Americans isn't just towards the South.

Detroit and Chicago could be examples of areas where more Black folks are just moving to the suburbs as well. Detroit suburbs north of 8 Mile that didn't have as many Black folks in the past, have more now. Warren is an example of this and there are others in Oakland and Macomb counties.

Metro Detroit is loosing black people for the same reason its loosing white people. Michigans economy is in a shambles, many jobless of all colors have hit the highways. I think the pace of movement out of Michigan has slowed, most of the vunerable jobs have already been lost. We are all hoping weve bottomed out here.
