Of course, every one knows that there were indigenous people here before, but many believe that they were just hunter and gatherers. What many people often don't realize is that there were civilzations that had structures, sprawls, farms, and canals here for thousands of years. In other words, the US is not the first great civilization on this fertile land.

Yes. The Anasazi and some of the Mound-builders had cities. There are still a few Pueblo towns surviving like Acoma. I guess Acomita is part of Acoma. There's also Taos Pueblo. Both towns date from around the 11th or 12th century.

The Iroquois had like a system of democracy or something and long-house villages.

I was taught in school that white settlers actually built North America from scratch by bringing in soil from Europe on ships.

You presume many people have never heard of the Aztecs, Maya, Toltecs, Inca or Anasazi. And you make this presumption to make what point exactly?

In my youth I remember learning a great deal about these civilizations, right up to and including the ritual sacrifices and cannibalism.

I'm referring to North America, specifically the US. Many were taught that the natives here were just hunters and gatherers who were uncivilized.

Watch the video, and you will hear the narrator say, "most Americans".

Comparatively speaking, these "native" Americans [DNA pinpoints them coming from areas of modern-day Mongolia and North Central China] were savages, compared to that of Western Civilization which grew out of Western Europe.

Wow, a "farm", a few buildings, etc. Compare that to advanced technologies such as that found in the space program, electronics, computers, the light bulb, etc. It's preposterous to call them advanced. Hey, the "native" Americans can't even hold a candle to ancient Chinese, Babylonian, and Egyptian civilizations.

By the way, there very well may have been Europeans on this land that predated the so-called Asiatic "natives", as various artifacts and skeletons have been found which seem to support this hypothesis.

The vast majority were uncivilized savages.

You are so off. The theories of Europeans being here were all disproven even all of the afrocentrists claims.
