They were referring to the metro area, I highly doubt greater Denver is minority-majority.

Sorry, you're hitting a nerve with that survey.
I am NOT comfortable describing myself as 'white' in the US Census (they do get upset when that line is blank) Caucasian or (pref) European descent would be preferable. Filling out 'mixed' or otherhas probably skewed the statistics, but 'white' is an outdated ethnic description dating to civil war, Jim Crow years.
After all, we have been drilled to no longer describe those of African descent as negro, colored, etc.
Asians, Pacific Island natives, many others are not generically classified by a skin tone in the ethnic origin. (P.C. pressure forces me to describe those of African origin as 'black', but I don't embrace that description either)
Oops I hope I did not go off topic.

Here is the original post. No, Denver isn't majority-minority in the suburbs. No city in the US is.

* White Non-Hispanic (67.1%)
* Black (15.5%)
* American Indian (7.7%)
* Hispanic (7.2%)
* Two or more races (4.4%)
* Other race (3.5%)

Also Atlanta is closer to 60% black than 80%, thats more like Detroit, and Atlanta is getting less black and more white, not the other way around. As far as mostly white big cities and metros: Boston, Denver, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Omaha, Des Moines, Portland, Seattle, Columbus, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Buffalo and a lot more. Also most metros across the US are mostly white, even the Detroit metro is mostly white. Cities and metros with a very large Black population are (not majority though): Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cleveland, St. Louis, Atlanta, Memphis, only a few more.

I would have to say Idaho Falls and Idaho in general, has a huge majority of white people. I come from CA's bay area which is probably the most diverse area in the country. So needless to say I was in for a HUGE culture shock and frankily I couldn't stand it.

For metro areas of over 1 million, I'd say Salt Lake City, Seattle, Denver, Portland (OR), Minneapolis are substantially White. I can't think of any Southern or Northeast big ones except perhaps Pittsburgh
