Two realities for many in the USA though. On one hand the nation has a murder rate on the higher end of the spectrum, but most people live in pretty safe areas. Low crime. However the high crime areas are so bad in the USA they shoot the nationwide murder rate up.

Yea I was referring to crime overall not just murde rate, as for the murder rate your right the US is around the same as Bulgaria they have had a big decrease from about 5 yrs ago, Columbia deffo takes the title on murders.

^^ so do I! I can't wait to see it rise! Those are some great renderings btw!
other projects that are very nice are - the new WTC - includeing 1 wtc, 2 wtc, 3 wtc, and 4 wtc - NYC
one bayfront plaza - Miami
115 federal st. - Boston
Trump tower chicago - chicago
waterview tower - chicago
empire world towers - miami
signature tower - nashville
Bank of america tower - NYC
New york times tower - NYC
and those are most of the supertalls (supertall - a building over 1000 ft, or 300meters) in the US

As far as technology goes I think Japan is extremly superior to both the US and Europe.

Not many areas bigger in Europe than L. A. Matter of fact, Moscow? Eurasian. London?, ehhh.. they're not much bigger, if that at all. Everyone else? Get back on topic, no more proposed structures of the future please. If you want to do that, how about, " Cities with the best future projects that may or may not be built. " I'll add that right now!!

USA has got NOTHING on Asia when it comes to skyscraper production. The only city in the USA that is still "trying" is Chicago. They have a few good plans.
Still Asia is amazing right now. In 50 years from now so many new supertall skylines wil exist. In the Mid East and Southeast Asia.
Right now, I think cities like Tokyo and Hong Kong have a higher quality of life then anything in the USA.

Yeah, Mongkok has a real high quality of life, with a trillion inhabitants in a square mile. I'm on MSN with Japanese buddies every night, going over their high living expenses, crappy commutes, and low pay in Tokyo and its 666 wards of hell.
My girlfriend lives in the suburbs of Nagoya. Big whoop. More density, higher prices, maybe a train nearby, slightly safer, maybe cleaner than your average middle class suburb in the US.
Even on the south side of Hong Kong Island (expat buddies used to live there), I'd be dreaming of Iowa or Nebraska.
Nearly all Japanese I have known here* wanted to stay in the Midwest, and a large number of Chinese and Koreans as well.
*: This is arguably a self-selected sample; Japanese who WANT to be in California, Texas, Europe, or Istanbul are already there.

Your right, they do have more skyscrapers in the making, most of which arn't that great to me,but how many they are getting is incredible. The only city that imo has a great skyline in asia is HK. seoul also has a nice skyline along with the main part of shanghai. Though I feel a lot of american projects look better than asian, but its just my preference

yes there will be soooo many more supertalls there, but their skylines don't impress me with how they look, except height

Tall buildings are a sign of elite capitalist class prosperity. Pudong is squeaky clean, now that they have built it all up. The rest of Shanghai, outside the Bund and Pudong, is still a squatter's hellhole.
