Well Kansas city has had a proposed super tall 1000ft building so I would think that any of the cities mentioned will sooner or later.

Houston and Atlanta have one
Houston - JP morgan chase tower - 1002 ft/305 m, 75 floors
Atlanta - Bank of America - 1023 ft/312 m, 55 floors

Dallas' closest one is the Bank of america - 921 ft/281m, 72 floors

yes, Kansas City, KS has proposed "tornado tower", it looks like this and its not really a skyscraper, but a tower

The upcoming Chicago Spire and the currently-under-construction Trump Tower in Chicago are supposed to be taller than the Sears Tower. Im not sure about the Trump Tower's final height though, so I could be wrong about it being taller than the Sears Tower. When completed, the skyline will look completely different, even more so than after the 1990's skyscraper boom that the northern edge of downtown experienced.

The Trump one isn't supposed to be taller than the Sears Tower. It will be taller than the John Hancock though. I think the exact height is supposed to be something like 1,362 ft.

The Burj Dubai is 1,640 feet.. I don't know if they're done building it yet. If they are, the Chicago Spire will be the tallest building in the US, and the world, standing at 2,000 ft.

The burj dubai is taller than 700meters, way over 2000 ft(610meters). aBout 818 meters is about how tall it will actually be. The chicago spire is 610meters, being the tallest in the US and 2000 ft/610 meters is the highest your alowed to build in the US. Also, Trump tower is 362 meters to the roof and 412meters to the spire

And 1 more thing: heres a rendering of what the skyline will potentially look like
note that some buildings are not what they will actually look like

I guess that to me the concept of living in a city in a crowded high rise is sad. Other people may like the freedom from maintenance, and access to city life, but there's no appeal for me to that. However, a move back to the cities might relieve the pressure on the rural areas so so I am all for it. If a skyscraper should be built, I would like to see a classic "empire state" type building go up with the class of the early 20th century. The higher they go the more space they have, so maybe some affordable apartments could be created.

One of the interesting things about New York City is how many old buildings still remain. Miami has very few left. I really do not like glass walled skyscrapers. A nice terra-cotta facing with windows that open would be what I would like to see.
