Southfield, MI? By what measures? Southfield median income by census estimates is around $52k. For what its worth, its in the middle of the scale. Atlanta as affluent is a bold statement. The city has ghettos and high crime.

They didn't even include Olympia Fields, IL(R. kelly has a mansion here)

Yes, I have to agree with that statement. It being mentioned amongst those other cities seems out of line. Atlanta definitely is top city as far as affluent AA, but it seems a little weird with all those cities.

The list seems to be selected on a totally arbitrary basis. Would have been better to look at 90%+ black zip codes or whatever by average income.

For the record, Baldwin Hills, Ladera Heights, and Windsor Hills are all basically the same neighborhood. They are all right next to one another. This list would be a lot better if we had population numbers. How many families are living in these communities? The Northeast may have more specifially identified communites. However, my guess is the Southeast is higher in overall numbers of high earning African Americans.

Olympia Fields is the wealthiest Black municipality north of the Mason-Dixon. It should be on this list.

Can't forget Country Club Hills too. There are some neighborhoods in Queens that are up there. PG County MD has it's share. Mt. Airy and some adjacent neighborhoods in Philly are up there as well. It's actually not too hard to find, at least, a solidly middle class mostly Black neighborhood in metros in the top 100.

Roselle, NJ isn't affluent, it's lower-middle class at best.

Plainfield, NJ has a section with mansions where a lot of the residents are Black, but the rest of the town kinda suffers from economic blight.
