I'm probably by myself here, but I don't really understand this man's mentality. Yeah, we're America and we're great, but is it absolutely necessary to spend billions of dollars just to prove our superiority to a world that half hates us?

I hope it never happens, though it would be really cool. But the thing is, he will have to build a building over 818 meters to beat burj dubai, and if al burj is built, 1200 meters! This would throw every skyline wayyy off. LA - tallest building is only about 300meters (a little over that), Houston - tallest building, 305 meters, and chicago - 442 meters ( when chicago spire is built, it will be 610 meters) The skylines will be thrown way off with heights!

He's an ex-Middle-Easterner, just trying to show that he loves this country. More power to him!
And who cares if the world hates us? We send them aid and they whine and moan about us, whos wrong here?
