Panther Burn, Hot Coffee and So So, Mississippi.

Mexia, Texas (pronounced Mu-hay-uh)

(Old Mexia joke:

Two cops were sitting in the Dairy Queen arguing over how to pronounce Mexia, so they decided to ask the waitress.

"Honey, how do you pronounce the name of this place?"

She looked at them like they were stupid and said, "D-A-I-R-Y Q-U-E-E-N.")

Why is that a bad place name? It means the meadows of which there are many in the area.

Personally, I like Jim Thorpe, PA for two reasons:

1. It's cool having a city named after somebody.
2. Jim Thorpe is a better name than Mauch Chunk.
