BY THE WAY...I forgot to add West Virginia to this poll. Sorry, folks. I don't like to consider it either NE or SE, so let's say that W. Va. is in the Ohio Valley/Midwest (with much greater emphasis on the Ohio Valley aspect).
Based on my experiences, I voted for California, Texas/Oklahoma and Southeast.

I haven't been to all of those areas, and I haven't spent enough time in others to say one way or the other, or it's been so long since I visited that I can't remember. But I live in the Southeast and, based on my limited but more recent experience, I voted Pacific Northwest.
I think TX and OK should be lumped in with the Southeast.
But anyway, I spent most of my life in the Sunbelt from NC on the east coast to Calif. and points in between. With that experience I believed that people are friendly everywhere except just a little bit more friendly in Oklahoma than elsewhere.
Then I moved to the midwest and that's went I found out that no, people aren't friendly everywhere.
