Here's another one....

I've always said what I think is transcribed as /beIg/ while the American standard pronunciation seems to be /b{g/ (the "a" pronounced like "bad").

How do you say it?

I sometimes catch myself saying the word "bag" with the Upper Midwest accent.

I think the English language is in trouble if people are going around saying "beg" for bag, and "melk" for milk.

my SIL would call it a "sack" (from OK). i don't say beg. short "a".
