I think its between GI Gary and Camden.Alot of the bigger cities have nice areas and bad areas. There not all bad. These are cities of less than 100,000 and they have just as much crime and poverty as the big cities. Not to mention some parts of them are ghost towns, where almost everything is boarded up,and people don't walk the streets.

Def. Camden. There arent any nice parts, and the really bad are as bad as anywhere.

I have had the pleasure of driving through East St Louis, because unfortunately, it only takes 1 wrong turn in downtown St. Louis to end up back on US-40/I-64 East and be taken 5 miles to the next exit (like 5 exits to ESL). The town actually has an odor. Yuck.

Isn't it almost basically a ghost town?I mean if it is a city built for 100,000 people and only 27,000 people live there I got to imagine there are areas that have no people in them.

ESL and Camden dont even compare. Camden is populated not a ghost town. Looking at the pics from ESL I see large empty single family homes, you dont see that in camden. Yea, ESL maybe rundown but I wouldnt say its the worst crime filled neighborhood.

Check the crime stats for the two cities.

Thats what doesnt compare. ESL has more than twice the crime rate of Camden. And isnt that what we are talking about here?

If you feel safe standing in a vacant lot in ESL, go right ahead and stand there all day. Chances are that you'll be worse off at the end of the day than at the beginning.
