I have lived longer in my new state (31 years) than my home state, 1200 miles away. I miss my family and old stompin grounds but I had to follow the buffalo.
Google satellite and Streetview and frequent trips keeps me from being homesick.
I never had a "hometown" mostly because when I grew up there wasn't a place were we settled down entirely with all the moving around, though Baltimore County came close. I live an hour away from it and don't mind coming back to it but I like where I am currently. The only reason I would leave is for a much better job opportunity.
Location: northern Vermont - previously NM, WA, & MA

Was born here in Salem, Mass and spent the first year of my life here. Grew up in a small town 20 miles north of it. Spent most of my twenties in Seattle. Always wanted to live in Salem at some point. I fulfilled that wish these past couple years. I never in my wildest dreams ever would have thought I'd be moving the high deserts of New Mexico, yet off I go in a couple months. Life is full of surprises and mysteries and that makes it interesting.
My home town is Palo Alto, CA, but now I live a little over 2,000 miles away. This is the closest I've lived to my hometown since leaving California around 20 years ago. I wouldn't mind moving back but probably never will; Palo Alto is just too expensive, and I can have an overall better quality of life in less costly places.
