This is a picture I took from a scenic overlook on U.S. 19 in West Virginia in early November 2008 (about three weeks past peak):



Imagine how vibrant the colors are in mid-October.

Any northern tier state with mixed hardwood forests. Lived in Maine for 20 years, wife is from Mass; didn't see anything particularly different about Fall color there than here in Michigan in the fall. If anything the fall color in New England was less consistent year to year.

Awesome, really anywhere in the Fall has some beautiful color, except FL and the extreme coastal regions.

The Great Lakes area.
I'm in northeast TN and while the fall colors in this area are quite pretty, they just don't have the same vibrancy as areas further north IMO.

I may be biased but really do love Bucks County PA and the fall can be amazing
