What is the most materialistic place in the US?

Where do a lot of people buy tons of clothes and dress well all the time?
I have heard that the OC in CA is very materialistic and Scottsdale, are there any other places?

Most major metro areas have at least a few neighborhoods or suburbs where there is significant materialism. However, I would agree that Southern California has a lot. Though again, it is very neighborhood specific.

Take Orange County for example. South County, like Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Irvine, etc. where they film the Real Housewives, is very materialistic. Yet just 20 miles north is Santa Ana, one of the most crime ridden cities in the US.

Beverly Hills, a suburb of LA. Very materialistic. Just 10 miles from South Central Los Angeles.

Ventura County, California has a high median-income and a high foreclosure rate. (Although not that high by Southern California standards) So maybe they had affluent people buying house they couldn't even really afford. If that's the case here's two of the most upper-income cities/towns in Ventura.

Outside California Las Vegas is sometimes stereotyped as materialistic and Naples, Florida is in a county that's relatively high in both income and foreclosures.

Not that I'd consider this relevant, I'm not Democratic, but Hunterdon County, New Jersey looks to be the highest-income county in the nation to be solidly Republican. Clinton is one of their highest income towns.
