Its hard for a rapper from Phoenix or Albuquerque or Denver to make it big in the rap game. The culture isn't usually assoiated with the Southwestern part of the country, and its the last area of the country you'd expect to see a rapper come from.MNPLS I could actually see a rapper coming from there.I'd like to see a rapper make it big from Las Vegas through. You see the glitz and glamour of LV and never the life that some of the people have to live.

No thats not true Denver and Pheonix have just as many African Americans as MLPS, its jus that Denver, and Pheonix have more people so the % is lower
Denver 500, 000, 12% black
Pheonix. 1,000,000, 6% black
MLPS. 300,000, 18%
So all 3 would have around 60,000 to 70,000 do the math

No,but I mean compared to the Eastern Half of our country those numbers are small.Akron Ohio which isn't that big,has more representation from African Americans than Denver, and its much smaller. But I mean when your talking about Colorado, yes that is a pretty sizable African American population.I just don't see Denver getting on the Hip Hop map. When people think of Denver they think of the mountains and a vibrant city.It would be kind of hard for a rapper there to put out the message that there is real grimmy hoods there.Same thing with LV,people would have a hard time believing a rapper if he or she talked about the grimmy hoods there.Thats mostly because the places you put on your list are places associated as being good cities.

Materialism, rampant disrespect of women, celebration in ballad of black on black crime and wholesale violence, support and encouragement of wasting ones' hard earned cash on namebrands that don't support your community...why would you want to wish this on any city?

I don't mind some rap songs, and for some reason I listened to alot of it in the 80s. My point is though that people can not 'just not listen to it' when it's all over TV and the radio and pop culture today. Some balance is in order here.
