For Greazy, There were a few of the old timers that said it that way when I lived in a small town in Texas, and a couple friends who were raised very rural on the Alabama/Florida line. Other than those times the only other place I can recall hearing it was Spongebob as well.
ROFL, and I don't remember ever hearing Spongebob say it. I'll have to pay more attention and watch him a little more often.

YES, good point. I have noticed that in that song.

But isn't it spelled "Lawn Guyland?"

Warsh vs wash, my grandmother in IN by way of KY says warsh. I grew up in MI and say wash.

What about 'your, our, and I'm'?
Yer, are, and ahm?
or yore, hour and eye'm?
I say "yore" and "eye'm", but I grew up saying "are" for "our". I learned to correct myself when I was an adult and realized I was saying it wrong.

I think the one that catches my ear the most is when people don't distinguish between a short "e" and a short "i". As in when "pen" and "pin" both sound like "pin". I think it's mostly southern, though it may also be in some parts of the midwest. I even hear anchors say it on television--"More ahead on the Tin O'clock News."

Hmm... now that I think about it, I probably say it both ways. Neither way sounds weird to me, but I'm sure I pronounce it as an S more often than a Z.

coupon

'koo-pon' or 'kyoo-pon'

Most people I know (including myself) use the latter pronunciation, an awful lot use the former, which sounds goofy to me.

I tried to find videos but full episodes are really hard to find on Youtube lol. But I remember he said it to Plankton in the episode where they try to start a rock band together, the episode was Krabby Road.

But then in other episodes he says it the other way like when he works for Plankton and sings the song greasy spoon. And in another one where his spatula is broke and he gets a French replacement, the French character says greazy but that was because they wanted him to sound foreign and snooty. Lol, I'm 20 years old but I still watch Spongebob like everyday.

The episode is right here. He says it around 2:57 into the episode. There is an ad from Nickelodeon before the cartoon.

My kids are hooked on Spongebob. which means I watch it also.

I usually pronounce greasy with a bit of a z sound, really either way sounds right to me.

wash does not have the letter "r" in it.

kyoo-pon is how I usually say it.

I was born and raised in Texas
