I have found it interesting that the cities with most culture are being preferred over cities that are generic, less pretty, and with less cultural acitivies.
I think many suburbs hurt because of this. But I know some suburbs like ones in the OC and some of LA have added some classy touches.
I know alot of people (no offense to liberals, but liberals especially) prefer towns with history preserved in buildings and in museums.
I know alot of people like towns and cities with beautiful scenery and higher class chains like Macy's, Bloomingdale's, and Nordstrom's. And also Trader Joes is quiet popular.
Cities that have a bunch of identical homes, non-interesting scenery, less places for performing and fine arts, and higher crime rates become less interesting to the wealthy and educated worker.
Any other things you can think of why people like cities with culture and class?
I think of wine drinkers, professional and nice clothing, healthy food, interest in one of the arts, coffee or tea drinkers, and book readers for the sophisticated type.
