Go ahead find me a couple of posts comparing atlanta to cities not on the Atlanta thread, started by Atlanta posters. You'll find the MAJORITY of them were started by people from other states.
No, "you guys" is big in the Midwest, too; I've lived there..
I agree, here in the midwest we use "you guys". Ive noticed in the Northeast its used differently, it comes out more sounding like "Youuuse guys" lol. If you ask me however I think our friends down south make more sense when they use 'yall". It just seems to make more sense when addressing a group of people, as it is not gender specific.
y'all, its a contraction of you all. But i think i say you guys and y'all pretty equally though but i may say y'all, just i tiny bit more. yous guys does NOT make sense. It's not even a contraction and if it were it would be you is guys. but it's not. were as y'all is basically saying you all.
wait, so even when speaking to one person you say you guys? i use both interchangeably, but only when im talking to more than one person, otherwise i say you, because those are plural words
Im from MD always said "yall"...dont have time to say "you guys".
What yall doin/ Where yall goin/ whats up wit yall
LOL I know, everybody always says Southerners talk slow, but it takes longer to say "you guys" compared to "y'all". Why use two words when you can use one?
