My friend and I have a running tradition that we always spend Thanksgiving together. We're looking for a warm(er) destination this year which is easy to access from NC and IA. Any suggestions on cool festivals or fun places to visit during this time of year. We're not completely opposed to cooler weather if the vibe is fun. Heck, last year we went to Montreal so that gives you an idea that we are pretty flexible when it comes to a fun city with lots to do.

I know that I've always wanted to visit New York City during the holidays... I've heard that the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is quite a sight to see!

I realize that New York isn't necessarily "warm" during Thanksgiving, but you can't beat the vibe!
