Kind of feel the same way about PA/Philly I dont recall specific state history or even city history, was more just US history but much was about PA, MA, VA etc. I always liked being able to walk right by the locations being discussed, made it very tangible in a way

In the D.C. area, it feels like you're constantly witnessing U.S. history as it's being made. :-)

But yeah, Maryland schools teach Maryland history.

I got New York history in 7th grade. I really enjoyed it, New York has interesting history.

South Carolina history in the 8th grade. It was an easy course; but we got stuck using 10-15 year old textbooks (this was in 2005-06).

We had one or two field trips, including a tour of downtown, but it wasn't very hard.

Im pretty sure every state has thier state history as part of its education curriculum.
