Default Where should I live?

Hi!

I am looking to move to Minneapolis, Colorado or Oregon. I enjoy creating art, exploring different cultures, and biking. I was born and raised in Chicago and I want to move somewhere will more nature. I am a Lesbian, so I want a good gay scene too.

Definitely Oregon. All of the Pacific states are very gay friendly, as long as you stay within the suburbs of a large city, such as Portland. In Oregon, you will be able to go outside more days per year than in the other two states. It does rain a lot, but not nearly as much as you think. I heard somewhere that Portland has one of the most extensive urban bike paths of any city. I don't remember where I heard it or if it's true, but I could see that being possible.

Minnesota has lakes. Colorado has mountains. Oregon has lakes and mountains. OR also has some of the best skiing in the country. The temperatures are definitely more livable than in MN or CO. MN and CO have freezing, snow winters while OR has mild and slightly wet winters. MN and CO have boiling hot summers, while Portland stays in the 70's and 80's most days.

All are good choices! Id have to go with CO over the other 2 for the simple reason that its the most beautiful and has the most liveable climate. Sure they get dumped on with snow regularly, but it doesnt stick around too long in the cities, which could either be a blessing or a pain to you (especially if youre a CC skier).

MN would be my next choice. MPLS is a great city (IMO better than Denver and Portland) and MN has many beautiful outdoor areas. Schools and quality of life are strong points in MN, which I like. The downsides are frigid winters. BUT, you can take advantage of them by skiing, sledding, snowmobiling, skating, hockey, etc, etc.

OR is beautiful also, but the problem is its hampered by rain most of the year. The temps are mild, so if you dont mind hiking/biking/etc in the rain, you might enjoy it. I just dont like being wet, so OR is a big turnoff for me.

Its all up to your personal tastes. Id visit each state and make your own personal decision.
