There is much discussion of skylines on CD; though the city vs. city is often a little nasty I think a state not know for big cities actual has the best collective set of views; that state to me is NJ.
So here is a thread devoted to a state comparison of collective skyline views.
Personally I believe that NJ takes it but there are a few others that could be in the running. (alphabetical order)
CA - LA, SF, and SD all of interest FL - Miami, Tampa, Jax, Orlando and the whole coast along the Miami metro; a very interesting collection of modern architecture IL - With Chicago and St Louis definately a player but not the best in my opinion even if Chicago is my personal favorite NJ - Well to me the best with direct views of NYC and Philly coupled with JC, Newark, Wlimington DE and AC to me the biggest punch (also many smaller skylines of interest with Morristown, Trenton, Camden, Ft lee, Pattison, Easton PA etc.) NY - NYC, JC, Buffalo and many smaller cities PA - Philly and Pittsburgh both very interesting and a few smaller skylines TX - Very good skylines in DFW, Houston, and Austin
Not surprising all are among the most populated states (OH was the other one to me and I think deserve honorable mention)
So what say you, which state offers the best SET of skyline views?

I think New Jersey has the best skyline views. It is great to see Manhattan from across the Hudson, as well as other cities like you posted. There also being Atlantic City and Newark and Jersey City, those are great views from wherever you look at them.
Well if NJ gets Manhattan (seeing as how you CAN CLEARLY see Manhattan from NJ), then it blows everything else out of the water.......
not only that, you kinda get Philly too....
and you forgot Fort Worth too.
I guess El Paso and San Antonio too...plus a lot of smaller suburban skylines like North Dallas and Uptown Houston...not that is matters cause those are not very impressive. I really like Dallas' though.
California really only has SF and LA that are impressive. I guess SD too, since I would want Fort Worth to be mentioned.
PA is ok.
FL, aside from Miami, has 'ok' skylines.
NY only has NYC, really...
IL holds up pretty well too with St. Louis and Chicago.
I'll go with NJ though.... because Manhattan is amazing, and they have Philly on top of it all.
I'd say that NY does since the Manhattan Skyline can be viewed from the Bronx, Queens or Brooklyn. The NJ Gold Coast skyline can be viewed from Lower Manhattan. The downtown Brooklyn skyline can be viewed from parts of Brooklyn. I haven't yet mentioned views of the skylines in Buffalo, Rochester, Albany and Syracuse...
KidPhilly, have you heard the rumor that both the NYC skyline and Philly skyline are visible from Kingda Ka at New Jersey's Six Flags? Always wondered if it were true..

I heard that they were both visible from Sarah Palin's house.
