My top 10 would be: (in no particular order)
1. Los Angeles
2. NYC
3. Miami
4. Atlanta
5. Dallas
6. Newport Beach
7. Chicago?
8. Houston
9. San Diego
10. Vancouver

I'd knock off Houston; Houstonians aren't known for being flashy or pretentious. Those types are here, but not like in abundance as you see in places like Miami and Dallas. I'd throw in DC and Vegas to your list.

People in Atlanta live above their means, most of the people that look rich really aren't

You beat me to it. The only difference is that the extravagance mostly comes from tourists instead of residents.

1. Washington DC. LOL, we had an event in New Jersey a few years back and there was a lot of DC people. There were so many "degree-snobs" it was ridiculous. I mean, it's great to be proud of your achievements but damn!

2. Los Angeles
3. Las Vegas
4. Miami
5. New York City

World's wealthiest regions are arguably PaloAlto, Manhattan and DFW/Hou...lots of wealth in these regions is self-made and "new"

In PA region, many of wealthiest drive selves to office in some mundane suburban office pk in some new >$150K Merc and live in a newer 6K+ sf house on a >1ac lot in a leafy suburb nr PA

In Manhattan, many are driven to office in some dumpy, elderly blk/blk Merc S550 (worth maybe $50K) w/a likely illegal immigrant, inept $100K/yr driver behind wheel, a "driver" who resides in outer boroughs and can't drive despite that being his "job"...and alleged wealthy live in some 75+yo dumpy but costly co-op w/primitive HVAC

Many of depictions of alleged wealth (as Hollywood depicts it) are illusory depictions of those in entmt industry....an industry full of economic illiterates who do "smoke&mirrors" to sell to WalMart crowd in flyover land for a living...salesmen selling crap to dumb customers...a classic scam business which pays for a lot of the houses, lifestyles, etc of LA's Westside...
