Didn't know that Ohio had that many Waffle Houses. Waffle House seems to be a love-or-hate thing where I come from.

I remember liking White Castle as well, though it's been many years since I went to one of those places.

Many of these Waffle Houses in Ohio have been built in the past 10 years.

I brought my dad, brother, uncle, and cousin from RI to a Waffle House out here in AZ for breakfast back in May when they were out here visiting me, and they all loved it. LOL.

I simply do not understand the enthusiasm here. Everywhere has crappy diners, chain or otherwise. I'll just chalk this up to nostalgia.

Sorry, but I've eaten at several Waffle Houses over the years and always find them to be clean and well-run.
My DH and I enjoy Saturdays at the local WH. It's a great value (breakfast diner alternatives in the neighborhood have gotten shamefully expensive).
The staff there is great. During a winter storm earlier this year, two young women stayed on for 48 hours to make sure that there was somewhere for locals to get a meal.

That's what we have diners for in NJ!

Jim Gaffigan sums up Waffle House perfectly in one of his skits.

That's what everyone in the entire country has diners other than (or in addition to) Waffle House for! I think it's perfectly fine to have a nostalgic attachment to a place like WH, I could say the same for A&W's with carhops along with several other chains, but objectively the WH food isn't good and it doesn't offer any special foods unavailable elsewhere.
