Haha, don't worry. I never heard of it either until I actually traveled down south. I don't think they're much of an advertising company. At least not outside the areas the they're predominately in.

I did eat at a place called "the Original Pancake House" in Vegas, which is also a chain... Wonder if any corporate relationship between the two?

Ironically I ate waffles there (bacon waffles, which were awesome). Great now I'm very hungry...
No, they are not. Waffle House = eh... The Original Pancake House = amazing food with a great atmosphere.

The Original Pancake House = Closed storefronts with fading signs for 20+ years and counting (if they are still unoccupied), if it's in this part of the country.

There is still one in Rockville, Maryland. However that place not only does not have a Waffle House it doesn't even have a Denny's, too uppity for these I reckon. There is an IHOP but its far enough away to not really compete. I especially love Waffle House's creative hash browns!!!!!

I agree Waffle House should advertise beyond its current markets, the way Sonic used to run ads during national college games so people watching the game who live in a non-Sonic area already knew of it. We now have a few in Maryland, before I remember watching the commercials and friends would be like that looks amazing why don't we have that here, and people who have been to North Carolina and Virginia already knew about it too.

We have The Walker Brothers Original Pancake House's here. They have been voted some of the best in the country.

I saw a Waffle House in Fort Collins, Colorado. For some reason, the locals didn't tend to like it. The parking lot was fairly empty. I thought, "these half-wit liberals don't realize what they're missing".

I guess that you should just stop "thinking".
