I'm not sure what's the best place to post this, but what are some nice places you know of that people from outside that neighbourhood are unlikely to know about.

I just found a neat little retail strip on a side street in Toronto between the medical district and Chinatown which has lots of restaurants and cafes with patios lining the sidewalk and large street trees: Baldwin Street.

A little earlier there was a place called Village Square in Downtown Burlington, it's a retail/artist workshop development hidden in the middle of a city block. You can see pictures of it here at their website (http://www.village-square.ca/ourcommunity/gallery/architecture/ - broken link). Burlington is generally thought of as a well to do suburb with a nice downtown but nothing too special. I don't think there's a new development quite like this anywhere in North America.

Wilson Lake | Wilson State Park - Kansas

This was a random stop on my cross country trip since my friends really just needed a swim, a guy at our motel in Kansas told about it over breakfast. The pictures really don't do it justice but Lake Wilson on a summer day is bright blue (the Caribbean kind of blue) surrounded by gently rolling bright green hills, a stark yet gentle landscape.

Cancun Cantina - Maryland's Largest And Hottest Nightclub...You've Gotta See It to Believe It!

This is a double club near Baltimore, MD. Half of it is an authentic country honky tonk that makes you feel you are in Texas, the other half is tropical themed and has an outdoor area with palm trees. There is also a real bull riding ring on the premises.
