Have you considered the Chicago area? There is a town called Berwyn in Ill. that has a large gay population. Chicago is only 20 min by train. I have some gay friends I could introduce you to and we could be friends as well. My husband and I want to move to the east coast in a couple of years. Not enough snow here. We are older than you so it's never to late to make a change.

No way its not too late! Of the list you mentioned, I would choose Austin, Boston and lastly Atlanta. I agree that you should consider Chicago, fabulous city.

This is one of very few threads on C-D where I've seen everybody unanimously agree on something. I think the answer to the OP should be crystal clear, 28 is not too old. IMO I think it's a prime age to relocate. Go for it!

Why lastly Atlanta? It offers a lot of what the OP is looking for. Besides, for what he is currently paying for housing in CT he could have something fabulous in a great neighborhood. Boston, not so much.

I concur; Nashville for its' size is a surprisingly cosmopolitan city with a vibrant gay community.

Unfortunately, yes. You're stuck where you are for the rest of your life.

I'm asking the same question at 67. I'll hazard a guess that in your case, at 28 you have plenty of time to start over. Go for it.

You can start over and move to a new place at any age. I think when one is under 30 it is relatively easy to do.
