Report location(s), types of trees (if known) and onset of turning.
I'll start:
Here in coastal Nor Cal, there are early hints of the full and complete turning.
As usual, the early turners (e.g. ones that turn earlier due to the Dry Season) are already apparent - Cottonwoods, Big Leaf Maples and some Willows. The Buckeyes, which hardly count, are nearly bare (they are true Dry Season turners and are never Fall turners in this part of the country).
Meanwhile, non natives such as Apricots, Apples, misc Eastern Maple species and Red Oaks, have a few leaves turning. Even a few leaves turning and falling from Liquid Ambers. This all started about two weeks ago, for this latter bunch of trees.
No fallfolliage here this year. Thanks to the 35+ days of temps above 95 (many of those days were actually above 100 but I'm not gonna take the time to look up how many...not much can survive when temps reach 110-113 like we had this year) (and we experinced zero rain the entire month of July) most trees are scorched here. It actually kinda looks like mid/late fall here because the sun killed a lot of our trees.
Nothing is more depressing than fall foliage IMO. It is the sign of decay and shorter days. When you leave work at 5 PM it's pitch dark. And you have to start wearing jackets and turning up the heat. No thanks.

We are all so different. Summer is my least favorite season. Fall . . . bring it on!

5pm?
The earliest it gets dark in the Atlanta area is around 5:30 pm, and that's around the winter solstice.
Winter jackets? In Fall? Maybe late fall, but usually a sweater will do.
Everything is GREEN here. It's supposed to be. We're only 2/3 of the way through SUMMER.

Really? I feel the opposite, I actually feel "alive" so to speak in the fall and winter. I also prefer night to day (I usually get a burst of energy around 9pm). I don't really wear a coat all fall/winter unless its really cold (but it doesn't get excessively cold here either) usually just a jacket.
