Same reason the months of Ramadan and Dhu al-Hijjah are celebrated in countries with a supermajority Muslim population.

Why is that ironic? They believe he is the messiah, G-d in the flesh and the son of G-d. What I find a bit backwards is that they worship him and acknowledge he was Jewish yet they have blamed all Jews for the last 2000 years for killing him even though he was supposed to die so their sins could be forgiven.

That is ironic...

Funny...a lot of school districts here just line up Spring Break over Holy Week.

Irony isn't the word I would use...although I do find it odd that a lot of Christians don't realize or recognize the fact that Jesus and his followers were devout Jews. Jesus didn't start the movement in the hopes of creating a new religion.

Again, it is at the discretion of each state or local jurisdiction to determine official holiday schedules. This is based on demographics. If there aren't going to be children in class, then school will close. If there is a low Jewish population in each school district and those children do not go to school, then the school cannot close when the majority of students will be attending school. It's not anti-semitic. It's demographics.

They walk a slippery slope. They have a hard time in many ways acknowledging his Jewishness. They take the Hebrew Bible and take the parts that they believe prove their beliefs. Yet they have for 2000 years declared war on the Jewish people.

They want to erase all the Jewishness of their start but they can't because Jesus was Jewish and loved his people and never wanted to start a new religion.

What has happened in the name of Christianity to the people that Jesus loved is heartbreaking.

Most of my Mexican coworkers think our celebrating Cinco de Mayo is hilarious given that they don't celebrate it.

And what is "Talk Like a Pirate Day"?

I think that is true with a lot of people...but just like any religion, Christianity has a multitude of facets and beliefs. There are a lot of differing views and opinions about the highlighted. Some Christians are antisemitic. But it's not necessarily a common theme throughout.
