People in my area are playing "copy cat" this year. It's a game to see who can put up the most elaborate, fancy, wreaths with red ribbons, thousands of garish white lights, with lighted reindeer and such in the yard. Home after home looks like this. And it is so incredibly boring.
I put up a couple of stings of the big C9 lights in blue, because no one uses C9 lights anymore, and they certainly don't use blue. I love it!
Got to give credit to one of my neighbors, though. They have nothing but a lighted Nativity Scene and a simple lighted star above it in their yard. Candlabras light their windows. That's it. Doesn't get more peaceful than that...
Definitely decreased in my subdivision. Maybe about 10 out of 40 are decorated just on my street. The other streets in the S/D it's about 2 out of 10. Kinda depressing, actually.
