Greetings, I'm looking for advice of to which state would best suit me. I'm a 21 year old guy looking to get the heck outta NY in may. I had my heart set on California though never been there and after reading about the COL and unemployment,I'm not so sure...also being so far from family.
I want to live in an area full of other young people preferably liberal minded. I absolutely love the outdoors as well. I'd like an area that is bicycle friendly. Also looking to avoid harsh winters. I will have my AA in liberal arts which I know isn't much...but need to find a place where unemployment isn't so significant.
I'm looking to return to college after establishing residency as well,so accredited colleges in the area would be a plus.
Like I said I really had my heart set on California..tho maybe Oregon or Washington would be a better fit? .. also I was considering north Carolina perhaps along with other distanced places such as Austin, TX tho I never imagined living in Texas lol..just reead that's a new hip area with lotsa jobs.

Try Denver or even Ft. Collins, CO. Growing economy with unlimited outdoor recreation next door.
A sleeper may be Laramie Wyoming. Perhaps Salt Lake City or Boise too.
