In my household we have already initiated the steps to save massive amounts on our week to week food bills.
We rerouted our Christmas money to buy more of a household type gifts selection
We bought 2 upright freezers (equaling about 30 cubic feet of space)
in the one we purchased hog (dressed out at over 200 pound)
We also bought almost $300.00 in frozen veggies from B.J.'s
and later today (01/01/12) we are picking up a full side of Angus.
The goal is to curb expenses so we can pay off the SUV and car and other bills.
We figure that since our government is burying us into a life long tax damnation we need to be more responsible for ourselves before they crush us too much.
THE END RESULT: We will eat better and not have the added expense of most of the everyday food consumption for at least a year (well - actually the meat should last us almost 2 and a half years not counting all the venison we had before the hog)
If I recall correctly; USDA estimates that the average person eats about 65 pounds of meat a year.
Continue pursuing my degree while working full-time to eventually do what I love while earning enough to pay off my debts. I should get there by Summer 2013.

Relocate to New Mexico
Be a little more ambitious, do more hiking, biking, skiing, and be outdoors as much as possible while I actively explore my new home and surroundings and meet new people. It's going to be awesome!
My diet has been vegetarian for several years and now for 2012 I have decided to go vegan. I started the transition about a month ago when I stopped using most dairy products such as half n half in my coffe; of course cutting out popular types of chocolate (M&Ms for example) will be what I miss the most.
I need to go to where the weather is mild, or at least better than in MN.
