what is also annoying are the people that complain that city x lacks a certain amenity... then you show them that the city has several of what they are looking for... then the person just ignores your recommendations and keeps whining.

I'd say 4 out of 7 posters who complain about the city actually have legitimate concerns and complaints while the other 3 are just looking to instigate something.

People like to complain. I don't know what they get out of it, but they love to do it. Some people complain about not having space, but then move to a suburb and complain about "souless subdivisions," and Walmart. Others hate cold weather, but ths south gets to hot for them, out west is too sunny for them. People complain about no having adequate public transportion, but whine when fares go up so than they can build. They don't like places that are too new, too clean, to spread out, too close, close to early or too late, too many black people, too many Mexicans, too quiet, too loud, too fast paced, too slow paced, too yuppie, too uneducated, not enough museums, too land locked, but hey, I can't swim. The many democrats too many conservatives, one wants taxes, the other wants fees, but they both want your money, our pizza is the best, your pizza wasn't made in New York City, we're just like nyc because we have Italians, that makes us tougher than you.......blah blah blah.

No one is overly defensive about most things. I've seen bugs and floods explained patiently a few thousand times.

There is another city board from my state that seems to attract both huge boosterism and huge hate. Neither side is completely honest with potential transplants, and people trying to give a reasoned, in the middle response often get attacked from both sides. I always feel bad for people trying to get an honest answer on that board.
What forum is that? Just for future reference.....

Not at all, because that's not what I'm doing. Re-read my post carefully - I have nothing more to say on that matter.

As for this:

Anyone who uses C-D posts as their basis for determining whether or not to move to a city, town or other locale lacks good decision-making skills.

I have nothing to say on the other points of your post and will not even repeat them, as your claims seem silly to me.
